7/29: What I'm Loving
Happy Monday! I am finally home after a busy week and a half in Atlanta. It was great to catch up with family and friends but I would be lying if I said I wasn’t ridiculously happy to be home with my bed, my cat and Jake. My visit to Atlanta involved lots of pool time with my sister and mom, two baseball games and a lovely day in Savannah, which I may or may not blog about later. I could not have asked for a better week!
School starts in exactly two weeks from today and I am fully ready to take advantage of maximum relaxation before things get truly hectic. On Wednesday, I am heading to Toronto to see John Mayer in concert and ohmygosh I’m excited! I have been a huge fan of John Mayer for as long as I can remember and have always wanted to see him in concert. I have also never been to Toronto but have heard great things about it. If you have any Toronto recommendations, be sure to let me know!
This week, I am trying something unheard of (for me!) and am attempting to quit drinking coffee. If you know me at all, you know I love a good black coffee first thing in the morning, an iced coffee after lunch and possibly even a cup before bed. Lately, I have been hating the feeling of being dependent on caffeine and have decided to break the habit, at least for a little while. I am currently on day three of no coffee and while I had a little bit of a headache yesterday, I am feeling so proud of myself for not giving in. We’ll see how the next few days and weeks go but I am hopeful I can do this!
Since it is Monday and a fresh start to a new week, I thought I would write another blog post about products, music albums and whatever else I feel like highlighting. I hope you have been enjoying these posts!
Sing To Me Instead by Ben Platt: This album is pure gold. I have loved Ben Platt since his gorgeous voice graced Pitch Perfect. He is also known for starring in the Broadway show, Dear Evan Hansen. I have been playing this album non-stop since discovering it last week and I have a feeling you will be doing the same!
Easy Breezy Volumizing Brow Gel by Covergirl: If you had told me a month ago that I would love anything more than Glossier’s Boy Brow, I would have laughed at you—yet, here I am confessing my love for
Covergirl’s brow gel. This product has given me the best eyebrow days I have ever had and it’s half the price of Boy Brow. Check it ouuttttt.
Beach Paint by Megababe: I will preface this by saying I have not yet tried this product because summer is almost over and I don’t anticipate spending too much more time in the sun before school starts. That being said, I find this product super interesting because every single summer, I struggle with melasma (otherwise known as a sunstache UGH). Basically, when I spend time in the sun, I always get dark spots on my face—specifically on my upper lip. I know you’re wondering if SPF helps and it doesn’t, trust me I have tried! Beach Paint was developed to form a physical barrier against the sun and defeat the dark spots that inevitably form. So, if you struggle with melasma like me, this might just be your new best friend!
Are You Political? on Tres Americain: A short and sweet article leaving you with food for thought for your week.
Cucumber & Mint Bodywash by Native: This body wash does all the things right: its smell, its ingredients and the way it lays out the list of ingredients on the back in a way that the average user can understand were all put together to make one of my favorite in-shower products I have ever used. You can find this at your local Target!
I hope you’re having a wonderful start to your week—and if not, I hope it gets better! Have you used, read or listened to any of the things listed above? If so, let me know! I would love to chat with you about it!
