What I'm Loving This Week
Happy Friday and hello from my couch where I am a captive to my sleeping cat who has decided I am more comfortable than anywhere else in the apartment. I am about to (finally) begin watching Stranger Things season 3 but decided I’d like to get some blogging done first! The last two days have involved little more than me speeding through a book called The Idea of You that I had heard rave reviews about.. It’s a super weird plot line about a 40 year old divorceé who begins dating a member of a world-famous boy band (think One Direction) and they fall in love. I’m not sure that I would recommend the book but I’m just putting it out there in case any of you were interested in some highly disturbing reading :)
On a different note, yesterday I ate pumpkin waffles for breakfast and for a full five minutes was ready to begin watching Gilmore Girls reruns and drinking hot apple cider. One quick look at my weather app and I was reminded that it’s the middle of July and I need to enjoy my tan while it lasts because, well, New York.
Anyways! Here are some things you should check out this week (and if you do, let me know your thoughts! I would love to hear them!)
Tom Hanks and Hot Dad Summer: If you love Tom Hanks as much as I do, you probably already know what this is. But click on the article anyway. It’s ADORABLE.
Madewell Pull-On Shorts: I have been living in these Madewell pull-on shorts lately. They’re lightweight and feel like you’re wearing pajamas. They also happen to be on sale right now! It’s a win-win. (Madewell doesn’t carry the exact pattern that I own but the colors they do have in stock right now are pretty cute, in my opinion.)
Briogeo’s Scalp Revival and Don’t Despair, Repair! Conditioning Mask: After spending a week in and out of a lake, my hair was freaking out. While on vacation, I wanted to take the approach of doing next to nothing to my appearance (no makeup, no hair products, etc.) and I did. I loved doing this but the effects of the lake water and sun left me wanting a hot shower, a clean head of hair and a vat of moisturizer. This is where these products come in: I used the Briogeo Scalp Revival to deeply cleanse my hair and then finished it off with Briogeo’s conditioning mask. I loved how my hair felt after using both of these—especially the scalp scrub!
Lemon & Cherry Juice Glasses: I accidentally (ok, it wasn’t an accident but Anthro is just irresistible to me!) walked in to Anthropologie this week and found these glasses. I am a sucker for all things citrus, specifically lemons. It took all my willpower to not walk away with a dozen of these but somehow I managed. They are SO CUTE.
The Cut Interview with Alison Roman: Alison Roman is the author of my cookbook, Dining In. She is sassy, funny and great to listen to as she talks about the behind the scenes of producing a cookbook and writing a column for the New York Times. If you haven’t heard of her before, I would highly recommend checking out her column and/or cookbook. Her recipes are always delicious and so different!
Collagen Crystal Eye Masks: I struggle with pretty dark under-eye circles whenever I don’t get enough sleep or am feeling tired. While concealer usually does the trick, sometimes I need some extra help. I ordered these eye masks from Amazon awhile ago and use them whenever I have extra time getting ready in the morning or need some help with my under-eye circles. I leave them on for about twenty minutes and my eyes always feel a lot better!
I hope you enjoyed my picks for this week! These posts have been so much fun for me to write and I hope they are equally as fun for you to read :)
